Mexican-American photographer, raised by a single mom. My family and I moved to the Bronx to restart our lives to after living in an abusive environment. This has influenced my work, leading me to explore themes of community, family and traditional Mexican values in the Bronx and Mexico. I started as a self-taught photographer but my curiosity led me to take a darkroom course at The Point. After a semester, I took a Teen Academy class at The International Center of Photography (ICP).
